I’ve been lying a lot lately.
And chances are you have been too.
It hurts being lied to.
It hurts knowing that someone who is supposed to love you, lies to you.
You feel betrayed, let down and unworthy.
You think you must have done something wrong.
Or worse, something is wrong with you.
But it wasn’t my wife, my friends, or even my family.
It was ME.
I had been lying to myself.
I was secretly telling myself I can’t do this.
I was telling myself it shouldn’t be this hard.
I was telling myself that I’m worth the success I have had.
I was telling myself all this and more.
Then it hit me.
I was lying to myself.
All of the motivation and inspiration that clients tell me I give them I wasn’t seeing in myself.
And the lies kept creeping in, slowly taking over my mind like the monster in stranger things.
Slowly eating away at my confidence and draining my energy.
Until a video of someone doing what I know I am capable of and striving to do was actually doing it.
It slapped me in the face.
At that moment it forced me in to action.
I reached out, asked for advice and decided to just simply do something in order to “BE SOMETHING.”
Since then I have been taking small steps every day to establish the faith in myself and my abilities.
I’m sleeping better, I’m more confident and I have more energy to attack the things that need to be done to get where I want to go.
Chances are you have been lying to yourself as well;
You can’t have the body you once had.
You don’t deserve the promotion you want.
You’re not ready to start exercising.
You can’t get that girl or guy.
Whatever it is, you’re lying to yourself.
I hope that this post is the proverbial slap in the face that I needed.
It’s true, you are capable of so much more.
You can be something more than you are now.
You can fit in to those old jeans, you can get that person you’re attracted to, you can start that business up.
You can be that person you long to be.
Easy it’s not, but possible it is.
Especially when you get the help needed to take you to the next level.
Let MAC Fitness can be that one to help you become the person you know you want to be.
Peace, love & fitness,
Matt C.
